Logitech MX Duo wireless mouse problem

I am pretty new to linux, but thought I'd give the linux world a try. I have installed the Fedora Core 2 distro but am having problems with my wireless mouse. The keyboard works just fine (I had to use it to finish the installation) but the mouse will not work at all. I am using the PS/2 adapter for the USB keyboard connector and using PS/2 for the mouse. Does anyone have any idea what I can do to fix this problem?

you have me stumped... i use the same keyboard and mouse and it works fine.

have you checked all connections and followed the installation guide for your keyboard and mouse?

Well, I thought about just using the USB instead of the PS/2 adapter connection but that's just for the keyboard and the keyboard works fine so I didn't figure that changing that would make a difference. Another little note: The connections are working ok because I am also using this same set with Win XP and no problems there. Where I first ran into the problem was when I went through the installation setup. I couldn't use my mouse there at all! I had to use my keyboard to complete the installation. Installation wise with the keyboard and mouse; I just left them plugged in from when I used them for windows. I guess I also tried installing a couple times now and same result, no mouse. I get the cursor but the mouse just doesn't want to move it.

hmmm... you could try using the usb connection, i think its for both mouse and keyboard. also, try restarting the computer. make sure the drivers are correctly installed, the mouse charged up, connecting to the base, making sure f-lock is on. basic stuff like that. if that doesnt work, give me some time to toy with the problem or maybe another user has a problem like that and knows how to fix it.

Well, alphaproject, my assumption was wrong, very wrong. I tried using the USB connection instead of the PS/2 adapter and it detected it on startup and works flawlessly. Thanks for proving me wrong! Now I just need to get the dual boot with Win XP and my nic to work.

Thanks for the help
