wrong (corupt) cursor while booting fedora 10 live on an packardbel easynote xs

I just installed Fedora 10 live (i686) on my portable harddrive and booted it up on my notebook (packard bell easynote xs).

It boots up fine only when it gets to the gui the cursor is a square and I cant change the screen resolution (native is 800x480 but i only can chose 640x480)

does anyone know a way out for this problem?
