thats alright, i figured out what was causing the problem, i was reading from the book "understanding the linux kernel" and i copied some of the code to try it myself, for some reason if i copy the code of a pdf file and try to compile it, it wont compile and i get the aforementioned error, but after writing it myself from scratch it worked flawlessly

thanks anywayz m8

Are you asking us if you get that error?

Read the "CAVEATS" section of the proc(5) man page: man 5 proc
