Problem with the X-Server

Hi

I am a novice in linux.

I am using the xming server on my Windows machine.

On my Linux account [Fedora 9] I am setting the DISPLAY variable by connecting using telnet. When I give the gnome-terminal command on telnet window then I am getting the following error message on my telnet window

gnome-terminal: Fatal IO error 104

So can anyone help me out. ??
