Fedora Core 10 with nVidia GTX 295 -- screen flicker

Hi everyone

I'm running Fedora Core 10 on the following configuration

Intel Core i7 920 CPU
3 GB DDR3 1333 MHz RAM
Palit GTX 295 graphics card (one)
HP 2309m LCD screen

I've installed the "latest" drivers from nVidia's website:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/cuda_get.html

i.e. "NVIDIA Driver for Linux (Fedora 10) 185.18.08 Beta"

Everything seems to be working okay, but when I drag a link (just for the heck of it) or some text in Firefox, the whole screen flickers with movement of the mouse until the mouse button is released. I haven't been able to figure out why this is happening. If someone has an idea, please let me know. Screen flicker is quite irritating :P

Also, I don't see the nvidia splash screen when X starts. I didn't use kmod-nvidia to install the drivers because that didn't work for some reason the first time. (Should I use kmod-nvidia as well?). Is this normal?

Thanks!

PS -- SELinux is disabled.

I did that first, but it didn't work for me. I am not sure if this is because the GTX 295 is a very new graphics card.
