wireless download too slow consistently - BCM4322

Hello

I have HP laptop DV6-1030us with a broadcom BCM4322 card.
I successfully downaloaded the drivers to get the card working. But the wireless
connection speed is consistently slow - it only downloads at about 15-20 k/sec.
when I boot windows (This is dual boot), I never see this problem.
Also if I do wireline connection for internet, the speed is NOT slow.

I will appreciate any help.

Thanks

Neeraj Gupta

Hi there. I don't have an answer for you but can back you up: I've got a 64bit Dell S17 with the Broadcom BCM4322 card on board. I am using the "broadcom-wl" driver from rpmfusion. My experience is very similar in that when connected to the wireless, I am getting like .5Mbps. I've got another laptop with a completely different card that downloads twice plus as fast. The two laptops are similar in other areas, like main board processor, etc. And, of course, my wired connection is tremendously quicker (10Mbps).

My wifi router is an older 802.11g D-Link 524. Could it be the older g router and the broadcom card don't play well together? I'll certainly test the performance on some other network, I guess (or just get a new router anyway).

I'm not sure how else to debug or what other alternatives to try.
