F11 Choppy audio only with vlc

Hi,
every time I listen to an audio or video file with vlc player for the first 5 seconds I have "choppy" sound.
This doesn't happen if I use amarok or mplayer,
Do you know if there's somenthing to configure in vlc to properly use PulseAudio ?

My audio card is:
Code:
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller (rev 01)
Thanx.

I can verify this behavior with vlc. With me it went a bit further though. The chop you experience in the first few seconds I also experience intermittently through the complete play of the audio file. I do not have a difficulty with other players.

I had the same problem. I found a quick fix though. I opened VLC, then went to tools -> preferences -> then clicked the Audio tab. I went to the Output section and started changing that. I tried ALSA, the PuleAudio, but they both sounded crappy. I then selected Simple DirectMedia Layer audio output, then closed VLC and opened a song. It works great now!
