Deleting inaccesible files?

I want to replace menu.lst (hilighted), but it's locked, or something.

Do it as root, but don't be surprised if your machine no longer boots afterwards. Which begs the question, why do you want to delete a system file?

you do know that "menu.lst " is a link to grub.conf , RIGHT.
if you mess that file up you will be using the install dvd to boot.

For whatsoever reason you need to delete/replace menu.lst I would suggest that you first make a template of fdisk -l so that you can later on regenerate it. For full discussion on how to do it see this thread: http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/red...-menu-lst.html
