Fedora 10 LiveUSB locking up in HP Mini

Hi all, I wanted to install Fedora 10 on my dad's (on his request, by the way) HP Mini, however there are a couple of problems:

First the video is all corrupted (the first time it booted X came up just fine, but then it looked all kind of "washed" as "blurred" like it was a water-color painting). Just upon loading X and the interface, the machine HARDLOCKS. Any body know anything about this or attempted to install onto one of these machines?

Help, TIA!

Edit
Are there any command-line arguments during boot to force a given X driver instead of the OpenChrome driver?

Just tried booting with the nomodset kernel command-line argument and it kind of worked, it indeed allowed the display (or at least the mouse pointer) to not be as washed-out as it appeared (only a blur), but upon loading GDM the computer still rock-solid locks up.
