select imput method crashes FC9

If I try to System -> Preferences -> Personal -> Input method

the thing crashes, pops up with a bug buddy message and you can save a text file of the bug info.

I have installed these RPMs for japanese:

the scim-configure program works ok but I cant set the input method because it crashes. is there some core update I need or what?

should I send that bug buddy text file some place and where?
