Windows on aircrafts may be a thing of the past.
If these students win the contest. Among them is a proposal to construct a place without windows because its more eco-efficient.

The proposals include a suggestion from a Spanish university for a windowless cabin. Despite the impact on passengers who prefer a window seat, the designers have found that an aircraft constructed this way would be more eco-efficient, Airbus said.

I have been wishing for this for decades now. I have watched the European companies who are starting to use them as lift vehicles. It was not only the Hindenburg, if she had been carrying helium it would not have been as bad or might not have even ignited at all. (one theory is it was the dope on the skin that was highly flammable). But then you have the Akron. Macon, the R-101, and all the others. Thing is our technology is worlds better today, and with the Doppler and other capabilities we have we can skirt bad weather much easier. I think a trans-Atlantic passenger service would boom! You could even make a serious profit on this, provide the elegance that the Hindenburg had. Yes, I think the time is ripe for this idea. Look how cruise ships have took off in the last 20 years.

Would you really want to fly in such a claustrophobic environment? Aile seats are so cramped, and so are window seats if it were not for the incentive of looking out the window.

Well, I agree an SST is also needed. Thing about an airship is it is more like a cruise ship, it IS the vacation. Lol, with them banning smoking everywhere it is just even more reason why now is the time.

Here here, the amount of profit to made would be enourmous, i believe some companys in germany have been trying to get permission to do this but, bureaucracy (goverments)etc.. has stopped it so far

If green-friendly = cheaper, I would.

When I first read the title I was instantly scared to be on an Aero Plane,
Why would I trust my life in the hands of Windows >.<
Then I read the Seats part XD
