gpk-application missing

i have been using Fedora since Fedora 6 extensively and am a linux sysadmin

i have an odd issue with Fedora 10
packagekit is installed but the gpk applications do not exist anymore
are gpk packages in one of the packagekit rpms i have not installed?

yum works fine

yum groupremove GNOME Desktop
then later i
yum groupinstall GNOME Desktop

now my gpk-application does not seem to exist

none of gpk-XXXXX tools exist i tried find/locate/whereis and none of them exist

@corey-laptop:~$ which gpk-application
/usr/bin/which: no gpk-application in (/usr/lib64/qt-3.3/bin:/usr/kerberos/bin:/usr/lib64/ccache:/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/home/corey/bin:/sbin:/usr/sbin)

corey@corey-laptop:~$ yum list packagekit*

Are you missing "gnome-packagekit"? I'd worry that you are missing more packages.

It was easy for me since this worked.
Code:
[me@computer ~]$ rpm -qf `which gpk-application`
gnome-packagekit-2.27.2-0.2.20090414git.fc11.x86_64
The real question is why
Code:
yum groupremove GNOME Desktop
yum groupinstall GNOME Desktop
didn't do what you wanted.

The man page for yum warns that groupremove doesn't match groupinstall but still I don't see what went wrong.
