Gigabit connection keeps dropping to 100mb

Hi There,

I have a home file server based on an Intel SE7501WV2S motherboard. It has 2 x onboard intel 82546EB Gigabit NICs that I have set up as a bonded connection to my netgear GS608 8 port gigabit switch. All gigabit connection are on good quality CAT6 patch leads.

The problem is that Ethernet0 (the primary connection) keeps dropping down from 1Gb to 100Mb. Usually either pulling the lan cable and re-inserting or repowering the switch gives it a kick up the rear and it recconects at Gb. I've tried different ports on the swicth with no obvious difference and have monitored my other gigabit connections (2 x windows desktops and 2 x laptops) all of which seem to maintain stable gigabit connections.

It could of course be a hardware issue with the onboard NIC, I just wondered if anyone else had any suggestions.

Many thanks for any advice,

E-I
