Why fedora

I am currently using ubuntu but i have been thinking more and more about a few other distros specificly debian.
It would be great if i could get you to just post the pros and cons about fedora and any other linux distro would be great to.

thanks

Please don't bump threads, especially after only waiting only 24 minutes. Perhaps folks are too busy answering technical questions to comment on a topic that has been done to death too many times.

The main difference is the package system. It's RPM based vs APT based. This is a issue of taste.

If you want more comparison google or have a look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compari..._distributions

Howdy bearded-flower.
These forums are somewhat different than Ubuntu forums, they're a lot less busy for one thing. So, bumping after a half hour, especially for a non-technical question, is not a good thing to do.

(It's bad for a technical question too, although if someone is absolutely desperate, we might let it slide.)

We have a set of forum guidelines, which are good to read. (Not sure if the bumping part made it in, but in general, we ask that you wait 24 hours, and then, if you bump, try to add more details about what you've done to solve the problem--that, of course, is mainly for technical threads, but it could hold in this cas too--such as, have you used our handy search feature?)

There are, as Wayne mentioned, many many threads on this. I would just look through the threads. We often shut them down, as it's been done so often, but here's a thread of the most recent release of Fedora vs. the last release of Ubuntu. (that is, the 8.10 one)

We tend to be a little stricter than the Ubuntu forums, another reason you should look at our forum guidelines.

Aside from that, welcome to the forums.
