no sound on dell studio 540

Hi all,

I installed FC 10 btu get no sound from either speakers or headphone. The output of alsa-info is at http://www.alsa-project.org/db/?f=45...20278aef29904d. I was previouslt using ubuntu at the steps at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HdaIntelSoundHowto would get the sound working. Do I need to replicate this in Fedora, or is there something else wrong with my setup?

Thanks.

Vince

Problem solved,

Followed instructions at http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-969611.html, in particular adding:

options snd-hda-intel probe_mask=1

to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base

I also removed pulseaudio as explained at http://fedorasolved.org/Members/fenr...nd-workarounds, but not entirely sure it was necessary as I removed it before I made the changes to etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.
