When I try to configure alsa, I got the following error

Loading driver...
Shutting down sound driver: /usr/sbin/alsactl: save_state:1502: No soundcards found...
done
Starting sound driver: snd-hda-intel done
/usr/sbin/alsactl: load_state:1608: No soundcards found...
Setting default volumes...
ALSA lib pulse.c:272pulse_connect) PulseAudio: Unable to connect: Connection refused

amixer: Mixer attach default error: Connection refused

Can any body tell me is there any problem in sound card configuration?

yum remove alsa-plugins-pulseaudio
has sound worked previously?
