Booting Fedora on an amd 64 laptop

(Note I wasn't really sure if I should but this in the AMD 64 forum or the laptop forum but here goes.)

I was wondering if anyone has had success booting FC 2 or any other distro with a 64 bit version on an adm 64bit laptop?

Ps. I don't actually have one of these sweet machines yet, and by the time I get one the current state of things should have changed quite a bit, I am just looking for prospects of a successful install and successful usage of a *nix os on such a machine.
