Connecting to HD-TV with HDMI and nvidia driver from rpmfusion.

Hi,

Someone tried connecting to a hdtv with hdmi? I thought it should be just a "plug'n'play" and when connecting FC11 / nvidia driver should automagicly recognize the tv-output.

Any special config I have to do?

I have the hp8530w with a NVIDIA Quadro FX770M 512 Mb.

Are you using the Nvidia drivers or the nouveau drivers? I know you say "FC11 / nvidia" but I just want to be clear.

I connect my HP laptop to my HDTV regularly with HDMI. I've got the proprietary nvidia drivers installed on F10 and the Nvidia application is all I need to configure the extra screen. Can't see how it would be different for F11.

If you're using the nouveau drivers, I couldn't really say - not stuck F11 on any of my physical machines yet.

Cheers

Duncan

Thanks for your answare, I'm using the nvidia driver from rpmfusion (akmod-nvidia) not the noveau.

How do you configure the extra screeen? I thought it would be visible in some way, I have looked in the nvidia-settings and didn't find any way to configure it.

I meant the "Nvidia Display Settings" which you get when you install the akmod-nvidia from rpmfusion.

Hmmm....

Is there anyway I could test or see in some way that I have a connected hdmi to the tv and that it's recognized? Where do I begin my search for the missing display?!
