Fedora Install: Boot failure

Ok, situation: Want to make a single 320GB drive dual boot (XP & Fedora). Got XP in and happy, with ~100GB left for Fedora. Used F10 install disc, it saw the space and I used the standard option for instal in largest free space. Looked at the breakdown of what it was going to form before it went through with it, and the install completed saying everything was ok. Rebooted, as was instructed, but when it starts back up I don't get a dual boot menu, rather I get a constant beep (doesn't seem to end). Fixed mbr with XP disc.

Not sure if this helps or not, tried it also with Ubuntu 8, but that has a similar story, but opposed to a beep I get a notice stating a grub 17 error. Sorry if I'm not clear, first time Fedora user. Thanks to everyone in advance.

Hallo pnaermao

welcome to Fedora!

It sound like a BIOS problem. See: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=442945
If it fixes the Uuntu error, it should do it for fedora to.

May also disable mbr-virus-protection for installation.

Error 17 does mean: grub can't read stage 2. Read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNU_GRUB#Boot_process
