My computer is slow (was:Question about my system..)

I'm running a pretty old computer with a AMD Sempron processor, and a ATI X1650 graphics cards..

I had desktop effects.... however, it seems to slow my my PC.... For example Flash streams did't work as well until I disabled it..

Does this just mean I need a better PC... or is my drivers possibly not installed properly. Any way to check?

Adding more memory should help. I get pretty good performance from a 1Ghz PIII with 1G of ram.
