Gnome session hangs when closing

When I close my Gnome session with the panel applet, it hangs. I get to see the box asking for closing session, hatl system or reboot, but whatever my choice is, it hangs. This is when I am in my personnal accont. When I am in root, it works.

My work around is to go to console (Alt-F1) and reboot the system from root. But this is annoying. Any idea how to fix this?

have you tried creating another user and see it that also happens with other user?

does it also happen using kde and what are your pc specs?
