suggested hardware on which to install linux

dear fedora community,

i have finally made up my mind: soon i will be using linux exclusively for my everyday work. and i have chosen fedora as my distribution of choice.
considering that my present macbook is becoming a bit out of date (and that i also experienced a bit of hardware compatibility with it using any linux distribution) i am willing to buy a new desktop.
i was wondering if there was an "optimal" hardware system that has been globally approved by the linux community. i don't want to bother checking component by component if it passed or not some kind of tests on linux - instead i just want to buy an out of the box product that big companies such as dell, hp, suns, etc. offer.
if such a perfectly adapted to linux system happens not to exist, well so be it, but otherwise please give me any suggestions!

many thanks,
hugo.

Almost anything you buy is supported.

Basically, buy the best system you can afford and post back here if fedora won't run, I'll fix it for you

About the only thing you could have issues with are the newer wifi 'n' chipsets and blueray (uurgh)

In the wifi case you can usually use ndiswrapper in the worst case, but (be warned) there may not be a 64bit driver
