sierra wireless aircard 881 question

How do i get sierra air card 881 to work on fedora 10?

It was pretty easy to get mine working...

First, check the file /usr/share/hal/fdi/information/10freedesktop/10-modem.fdi

I see in my 10-modem.fdi file, it's already configured for the 880 and 881. All you gotta do is get the product_id out of dmesg and add to the match key line, restart HAL and it should fine the card.

Sorry for the delay, busy Saturday.

With the card unplugged, open a terminal window

Type
su - <enter your password>
tail -50f /var/log/messages

Then plug in the card, you should see some info on the screen.

Look for the line New USB device found... This is you vendor_id and product_id.
