Login trouble on first boot

I just installed Fedora 10 on an IBM Netvista machine. The anaconda GUI was giving me trouble so I used the text only install. After I finished the install and rebooted to load for the first time, when it should have prompted me to create my user name and password, it went straight to the command-line login...since i didnt create a user name im not sure how to proceed. Sort of a Linux noob, so any help would be appreciated.

The firstboot suppose to kick in.

Try this, login as root thru terminal:
Code:
chkconfig firstboot on
Use your fav editor on the /etc/inittab file, change the last line to have a 5, not a 3, then reboot your rig.

yeah,i saw that on the install guide on the Fedora site and tried it, all that did was change the login to a GUI instead of the command line i had before, its still not giving me a chance to create a user name before it asks me to log in....

Well, you can look at:
Code:
man adduser
Try this, if username is john:
Code:
su -
adduser -m john
passwd john
