Atalk Issues

Hi all, got an interesting problem trying to get atalk to work on FC2 on a corprate network.

The network here is layed out over 5 segments which all have their own IP range and AppleTalk Zone. We have other Solaris servers running Helios and none of them have any trouble transferring across the different segments/zones.

When I connect a client on the same segment as the AppleTalk server I get good transfer rates no problem, everything works perfectly.

BUT

When I connect a client from a different segment of the network I get terrible transfer rates.

Just to verify that this is not a hardware problem I have turned on SMB and conneced from the same mac clients to transfer the same files with no problems. I can transfer across different segments at thoretical limits with no issues. I think this is a routing problem but only for AppleTalk and I don't have a lot of experience setting it up.

Anybody else seen this before? Anbody know of a fix?

Just so you know the hardware is a Dual PIII 733 Dell box connected to an Arena raid array. The network card is detected as a 3Com 3C905C [Tornado]
Running the 2.6.8-1.521smp Kernel and all other current updated packages with Core2

Any Help would be GREATLY appreciated
