how do I change resolution to 1024x768?

I'm still on GNOME with 800x600 resolution but I can't switch to 1024x768 because there is no 1024x768 option under resolution settings. My monitor is 17" so 1024x768 should work fine.My graphic card is integrated GeForce 6150.

install drivers

install drivers for your monitor and graphic card first (if you have it for linux),i have that monitor with an on board vga and it works fine on F10, but fedora 10 live CD detected ok all my graphic hardware, try system-config-display and see if there are your hardware well detected, compare it with the information they gave you when you bought your graphic card, names specially, linux software do not always name commercial brands on the driver's name

default connected 800x600+0+0 0mm x 0mm
800x600 60.0* 56.0
640x480 60.0
400x300 60.0 56.0
320x240 60.0
