No sound in Unreal Tournament

When I launch UT in in a terminal I get the following lines (I cut the rest of them because they seem ok)

Bound to ALAudio.so
open /dev/dsp: Invalid argument
Audio initialization failed.

I get no sound in the game.

What can this mean? I really like the game so please help...
