How to install games?
I'm kinda new to Fedora it's my first Linux -ish OS and i know a lot about PC's and i figured out a lot already.
But i don't know how to install game's from a CD.
I want to install some old easy lightweight games since i got Fedora on a 16GB USB stick (7GB free)
I'm planning on installing Age of Empires 1-2 and C&C Tiberian Sun and Firestorm.

Games softwares designed and compiled for M$ Win* OSs will not run natively on Linux/Fedora. You may have some success using a compatibilty interface such as WINE:
su -
yum install wine
See the "Application Data Base" at winehq web site for help.
V
P.S. In general: any software (including especially executables, which includes viruses) in M$ Win* format (*.exe, *.dll, *.msi) will simply not run on Linux without something like WINE as an interface.

No: You must "install" the software onto the WINE "Operating System". The WINE OS is located in your user's HOME folder, and is hidden:
~/.wine/
See this basic "How-To" for more details: http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showth...highlight=wine

Did you first start the intial wine configuration?
This will generate your .wine folder in your home dir and all configurations.

run
After this, if you want to just give it a run, just put the disc in and navigate thru it and double click the installer. Game installs should be a simple (usually) and require little tweaking if they are already proven to work in wine. There are some tweaks that you can do to the registry using 'regedit' just like in windows. However, you shouldn't have to mess with it to get most games installed. Check out winehq for tips on how to install your desired game. Do keep in mind that not all windows applications will work in wine, and not all of them will work right out of the box.

Sorry to intrude. But I thought I should mention that for 64bit users; you must also install the 32bit Libraries for compatibility reasons. I couldn't get Oblivion to run until I did that. Just thought I should add this to the conversation "pot"
