Problems with ripping

I am trying to get a music ripper working on Fedora 9, I have installed both sound juicer and grip but neither seem to get the tracks from CDs. In fact when I put a CD in the drive I even get the option of opening it with sound juicer but when selected sound juicer opens with no sign of the music tracks.
What am I doing wrong?
