Can't burn CDs on Fedora 10...[SOLVED--though not sure why it worked]

I have a rather strange problem here... for some reason, I can't burn my files to a CD! I hit "write to CD", chose lowest write speed (after max failed), entered a valid name, and then went ahead - but all I got was a some kinda warning message flash on the screen (I *think*, it was too quick), and then the CD/DVD creator would just disappear. Nothing was burned, and when I went back to CD/DVD creator, the files were still there. The strange thing is, I can burn images without a problem - I've burned Win98 installation CD (for an old rig) and Ubuntu 8.10 image (for the family computer) earlier today, and just to try if it still works I burned the same Ubuntu image on the same CD-R that failed to work earlier - it's burning it as I write and no problems so far.

Anyone got a clue what's going on here?

Well, nevermind. It was a folder I was trying to burn... instead of dragging the entire folder in the CD/DVD creator, I just dragged in the contents, and it works. The files are now happily getting burned...

Still, anyone have any insight as to why this was happening?

If you had said the opposite, that dragging the directory worked but not the files, I would have guessed, from the way the command line versions work, that the underlying commands were having an issue. I'm taking the liberty of marking it solved, since I think others may benefit from the information (and thank you for coming back and posting that you fixed it and how you fixed it--you'd be amazed how many people don't bother.)

Hopefully, you're OK with the way I phrased it (so that someone with more knowledge of the graphic burncd program might take a look and possibly be able to explain it.) If you'd prefer some other wording, please just drop a PM to any of the CM's as I will be out for awhile and wouldn't be able to change it to wording of your choice in a timely manner.
