Post Any SATA non-RAID controllers out there?

I'm needing to expand my server and am looking at a 16 or 20 bay 3-4u case.

Problem I'm running into, is I can't find hardly any non-RAID SATA controller cards. It seems ridiculous to have to pay several hundred to get a card with functionality I will never use.

Trying to find a either a 20 port or, a 10 port, or a 6 port, a 4 port and a 10 port SATA host card.
I use mdadm for everything.

To give you an idea I have a google search for 6 port cards http://www.google.com/products?q=sata+%226+port%22+card

Multiplexing isn't an option, as it does not play well with mdadm, so my experience has been.

Not really looking for 10, 2 port cards.

Would like to stick to some decent solutions. Need a quality card just without the RAID functionality.
Like a said though, still looking for these combos;
1. 20port card.
2. 4 & 6 & 10 port card.
3. 2, 10 port cards.

Also, does anyone have any experience with onboard SATA? I've found some boards such as Giga-byte and other brand names with 8-10 onboard SATA's. I don't care about the CPU usage or any of that garbage, so other than that are their any major detractors to using onboard SATA?
