His - I must be missing something obvious, but I see no way to delete a file in either Fedora 9 Konqueror (or Dolphin)..
What am I missing please?

Right click delete? Or select the file and press the delete key.

Comrade - unfortunately, neither rt mouse click, nor DEL button have any effect. It' very odd.

Right click and selecting delete, or highlighting the file and hitting the delete key only move files to the trash. Shift-del deletes files.

Angry Deleting files in KDE

Johnathan
Neither of the earlier specified techniques moved anything, anywhere (including to trash).
But I will try your method and report back....unless you have other thoughts, based on this observation:
Personally, I find no delete option...staggering....

Apologies for this. I needed to be root to do this delete, so I guess it was ultimately a matter of permissions. Still, I have to say it was not intuitive.
Sorry.
