Rebuild initrd on DVD?

Hi,

I have reported a bug in Redhat Bugzilla (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=474122) and I guess it will die a silent death over there.

Anyway, the problem I have is that the x86_64 installer for Fedora 10 has a kernel panic before any user screen comes up on my Dell Optiplex 740. The same DVD works fine for my Dell Vostro 1200 laptop.

I am leaning toward the idea that the initrd is somehow responsible for this ("RAMDISK: Couldn't find valid RAM disk image starting at 0.").

My question is this - can I possibly rebuild an initrd file for the DVD installer so that it works on my system?
