HP dv2000 wireless

I just installed Fedora 10 and its awesome. But I've been trying to get the wireless to work but I doesn't. I didn't download any drivers , yum, or anything yet. Also is there a way to automatically download drivers like a download application or something? Any advice and suggestion would be great.

Here is my system info:

Network Controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4311 802.11b/g WLAN (rev 01)

Thanks.

Hello ion,

That wireless chipset is well-known around here. The good news is that it is known to work with several Broadcom driver methods. The bad news is that all of those methods require some downloads. It will be better (and easier) if you can connect the very same computer to the Internet by wire long enough to use yum for the downloads (as opposed to offline manual installation of packages copied to the computer). Probably the easiest thing (for me, anyway) is to refer you to a thread where someone got a card with that chipset going. But first read it to the end because it has the obligatory thrashing around at the beginning and well before the happy ending. And maybe follow some of the other links that you find there to the other driver methods known to work with the BCM4311.
Fedora 10 + HP Wireless
P.S.: If you have any questions about anything that you read there, I recommend returning here to your fresh new thread to ask them.

The easiest method to use is the one by which you download Broadcom's own 'wl' driver via RPM Fusion. That's definitely the one I'd recommend you try first.
