    Livna.org temporarily down

As some of you have noticed, rpm.livna.org is down at the moment. It's not dead - Thorsten wrote this on his blog earlier today:

rpm.livna.org is unreachable -- but that are just temporary DNS problems, so the rumors of livna's death are greatly exaggerated. rpm.livna.org will stay as a add-on to the repositories from RPM Fusion for the foreseeable future.

The rpm.livna.org mirrors still work and yum will automatically use one of them. You can find the release-rpm on mirrors like the one on http://ftp-stud.fht-esslingen.de/pub/Mirrors/ in case you need it for a fresh Fedora install.

Update: The DNS for livna.org will likely be unavailable for at least a few days, likely a week or more. So spread the news to make sure everyone is aware of the fact that rpm.linva.org is still alive and remains usable thanks to the mirrors.

Sorry to bug you, but is there any news on this front?

From Thailand I can neither reach the rpm.livna.org website, nor this mirror.

So, UNCLE!!!!! Never know what a good thing you had until it's gone. Livna store some precious Fedora stuff that I am having a hard time functioning without. Stuff like DVD codecs and yum stuff. I have not had success getting things off the other mirrors.

So, any news yet? Pretty hard to have a well balance machine without the livna repos IMHO.

No it doesn't, all livna has now is the libdvdcss package, all the others are in rpmfusion

livna & others became rpmfusion a few months back. Just update your yum.repos.d or just visit here http://rpmfusion.org/

Google this problem; there's somewhere on the net a site that gives a solution, by loading mirrors or something... I followed that code, and the first few days it still was slow or none-existant, but now I've managed to install everything.

The Livna repository directory heirarchy is organised along these lines:

where [version] = the version number of Fedora. i.e. 8,9,10,...
    where [arch] = SRPMS, i386, x86_64, ppc, ppc64
where [package] = the name of the software package

THEREFORE.... Because the mirror is actually a mirror image of the livna repository that means it has the exact same directory heirarchy as the livna repository. Thus the mirror is going to look like:

Hopefully this will help those who've not had very much experience dealing with mirrors before.

I just activated the livna repo and installed libdvdcss.

It seems to be back up

    I'm saved....

Actually, I had to watch DVDs on my XP machine using Nero. It isn't that bad but Fedora manages the sound better than Nero.
