fedora 10 always freeze

hi

my problem is when I install fedora 10 at graphical mode it is freeze then I must restart my computer to work again

but if I install it at text mode it is fine and there is no freeze and if I run it ... it is freeze when gnome starts

also when I install ubuntu 8.04 also freeze


but my winxp works very good

I checked my ram and HD and everything is ok

my system:

amd athlon 64 3500

nvidia 6600

ram 1g


I hope to solve it

Post some more info i.e error output , then some might bother to answer.

hi my friend

I am new at linux

just tell me what command do you want me to do and I will then put output here

I dont know what to do

just I know

when works on text mode there is no freeze never

and when I run "startx" and gnome has started a freeze comes after a short time

all system freezes there is noway to run again just restart it


I am very tired

what Nvidia driver are you using? assuming you have installed one?

could be bad Ram Stick? did you do a Memtest?

could be anything but have you checked that all your Cables, HDD cables are working properly an not faulty? Video could be a dud card to, might be time to update the card?

how much Ram has that Videocard got on it?

I have installed F10-dvd from official site

what is the nvidia driver in it

I have test via memtest and there is no errors at all

everything is ok also I have winxp also on my system and there is no error with it

how much RAM is on your Videocard? is it 128MB or 256? or 512?

let me see if i can get this right, you can install Fedora10 fine but it wont start any DE such as KDE or Gnome? you dont have a spare Monitor do you?

when I un-plugged this monitor


my system works fine

but what is the reason for this problem without unplug my monitor how can I solve it
