Recently I've noticed that a number of services stop and do not come back on when logging out of Gnome. For example, I'm running ssh and smb as services on my computer and when I log out of my Gnome session, I'm no longer able to access my network shares or ssh into my computer until I log back in. The services are enabled on runlevels 2-5 according to system-config-services. It just seems like this is really dumb behavior and I was wondering if there was any way to prevent this.
SSH service was enabled by default when I installed and I have not changed the settings. Both show up under system-config-services as enabled etc. but seem to be disabled when I log out of gnome.
