Fedora 10 installation problem

Giga-Byte CA-K8VM800M Motherboard. VIA K8M800 chipset
Clean install with DVD ,machine loads to the point where the install options are then locks up.
After various tests decided the problem was graphical.Installed a graphics card (AGP Radeon chipset)
The operating system then loaded with no problems.Can any one help with (a) the onboard graphics problem or (b) the minimum specification for a graphics card that will work.
I should explain,the card I used for testing was borrowed and expensive so its not really an option
to buy one to this spec

Tell us what model video card you have.
Try installing in text mode.

Have a look at the OpenChrome project. Looks like your chipset may be supported there, http://www.openchrome.org/

Thanks for the reply.Not sure which graphics set up you wanted, will send both
On board VIA K8M800 single chip that is the 'north bridge' and handles the graphics
AGP ATI Radeon X800 pro 256MB.
I have checked the sites suggested .Openchrome have a driver ,I've not installed it yet .
I have also removed the AGP card and booted with the on board graphics. this resulted
in a lockup when it reached the login point
Will keep you posted.
