nVidia Drivers - "no screens found"

I have searched all over and can not find a solution to this problem. I am running Rawhide.

When trying to install the nVidia drivers as per Leigh's F10 & F9 nVidia Guide (installing the akmod package on a Go 7600 GPU), I am unable to start X. It refuses to start with the following error:

Code:
================ WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING ================
This server has a video driver ABI version of 5.0 that this
driver does not officially support. Please check
http://www.nvidia.com/ for driver updates or downgrade to an X
server with a supported driver ABI.
=================================================================
(EE) NVIDIA: Use the -ignoreABI option to override this check.
(II) UnloadModule: "nvidia"
(II) Unloading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers//nvidia_drv.so
(EE) Failed to load module "nvidia" (module requirement mismatch, 0)
(EE) No drivers available.

Fatal server error:
no screens found

Here is some system information:

cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf
(this is only one of the many variants I have tried )
Code:
# nvidia-xconfig: X configuration file generated by nvidia-xconfig
# nvidia-xconfig: version 1.0 (buildmeister@builder63) Tue Jan 6 10:03:02 PST 2009

# Xorg configuration created by system-config-display

Hello:
Since you are running rawhide, your best chance at a solution is either on the mailing list http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Communicate#Mailing_Lists or since it's the nVidia driver, try http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/foru...?s=&forumid=14
