copying text from open office writer

If I copy text from open office writer to gedit, no matter where in the text my highlighting ends (even mid-word), there is always an extra line added to the paste output. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening or how I can prevent it?

I had the same problem in Fedora 9 with OOo (sorry, can't remember the version). With OOo 3 in Fedora 10, the problem seems to have been fixed.

That's good enough for me! I'll be upgrading just as soon as I can find the time (if not, sooner ).

Thanks
