Device shows up in Network configuration but not in Network Device Control

I had some sort of hit on an IPL that disabled my ethernet device... I was able to get it abkc and active in the network configuration but It does not show up in the Network Device Control screen... I can use Firefox and get to the interrnet but the evolution email product does not get mail so I think that has something to do with it... Any ideas?

Did you use the gui, system>admin>network, to restore your configuration or did you hand edit the files in /etc/sysconfig/network ?
