Hand held scanners - still made?

Are there any good hand held scanners that work in Linux. I mean scanners that scan images. I often see articles that I'd like to scan from the newspaper, but it is too much trouble to fold the paper to fit in the bed of an ordinary scanner or cut out articles.

Perhaps I should take the top off my scanner, and set it upside down on the newspaper. Even that would be more trouble than I like.
