Fedora Core 2 final installation freezes after the message "Uncompressing Linux...Okay. Booting the kernel." MD5s were checked and this problem does not happen when installing from VirtualPC on a Pentium 4 on another machine.
The machine this problem occurs is a Compaq Presario 5304. The details are:
Cyrix M2 686 250 Mhz
221MB ram
Maxtor 30GB
Gigabyte 5SMM mobo
SiS530 (onboard)
ESS SOLO-1 ES1938S (onboard)
This problem did not happen on FC2R3, that loaded the kernel with no problems, however later on in the installation and it would stop after an error message saying fedora could not be installed on this machine.
