Redhat linux ws 3 in microsoft virtual pc

hi
i have installed Red Hat Linux WS 3 ( Taroon) in microsoft virtual pc 2007.
My host is win xp with sp2.
However i am not able to ping host from guest or guest from host.
I use microsoft loopback adapter on my host.

Can somebody let me know what all network settings needs to be done in detail?
i m kinda newbie to network concepts in linux.
