Arrow Gamers : Help

hi,

here's the thing.. Im a part of the Local LUG here.. The main audience that we cater to are college going students ( like myself ). We want to put up something like a "gaming expo" to show , rather make aware, the population of the awesome games that linux has. I need your help to populate this list. Please just post your favourite games with maybe a link to the site. Even windows games on Wine etc will do ..

Even better if you can post a "How-to" for the game. The more games we have, the better.

regards,

Ankur

awesome games for linux!? i think no
I've look at CoD5... wow!! it's a awesome game!! but it's for windows
Yeah, i think that promoting linux by pointing to games isn't a good way to promote linux as it'll just lose against windows..... .................

BTW, on linux i like: UrbanTerror, astromenace, brickbuster, of course extremetuxracer -- and not much else...

It's an interesting topic anyway, because i can just lurk and install what other people are going to suggest lol

bye!!!!

Depends on type of game you're thinking of. From Alienarena to Tali in repos, or games like Enemy Territory (both free and pay for versions), Penumbra (all episodes), all Introversion's games such as Defcon, Darwinia and Uplink etc. etc.

Some more with pretty pictures: http://rangit.com/software/top-8-linux-games-of-2007/

thanks for the link. Some really good looking games here. Im looking for anything interesting that we can show to the people here. Stuff like Counterstrike and WOW ( we plan to show them working on WINE ).

We dont want to compare linux games with windows games.Sadly wont make sense .. We just want to show people that good games for linux DO exist. Its not an OS that only programmers etc use, that it can be used by anyone, even if just for regular use.

regards,

Ankur

It's timeless.

the viruskiller code builds just fine in fedora 7,8,9 10? i don't have 10
been having trouble building it in MinGW on XP
but the fc9 rpm should work just fine in fedora 10
