Here's the situation. I had installed Fedora 9 about a month prior to the release of Fedora 10. Everything worked fine. It was a dual boot system running along side Windows Vista Home Premium using GRUB as the boot loader. I could access the root account with no trouble.
Fedora 10 came out so I upgraded. Then I couldnt access the root account. I tried using boot linux into single mode so that I could reset the password of the root account using "passwd root". It accepted the new password but when I rebooted and tried to login with the new password it still said wrong password.
I've now tried completely formatting the linux partitions on my hard drive and trying just a clean installation (still dual boot along side Vista). And its still the same results.
Any ideas?
