Keyboard layouts under KDE in FC2?

I've just installed FC2, and to my shock, i can't use kxkb to switch keyboard layouts in KDE.

In gnome i've managed to configure keyboard layouts in seconds, but for some reason, KDE's keyboard layout list appears empty.

I don't seem to be missing any KDE rpms, and i've updated my kdelibs to the latest RPM fix.

any ideas?

Solution

It is the rename of xfree86 to xorg that messes things up.
To fix:

$ su
Password:
# cd /etc/X11/xkb/rules/
# ln xorg.lst xfree86.lst
# ln xorg.xml xfree86.xml

/MF

Unhappy Nope, didn't seem to do the trick

I've copied my old ~/.kde dir from my RH9 partition, and at least now i can switch layouts, but still, after doing what you've usggested, no layoouts appear in the keyboard layout menu.

Oh well, after 4 years of working with KDE, i've switched to gnome <sigh>

btw, how the @#$% do you set the default desktop in FC2? there is no swithcer applet, and no config option visible.
