How to create a swap partition from an unallocated Partition?

I recently installed Fedora 8 in my system in a 14GB Partition without Swap Partition. Now I feel like having a swap partition for Fedora and I don't want to reinstall it.
I have a 2GB unallocated partition in my Drive and I want to format it as my Swap partition. How can do it in Fedora 8? I am new to fedora so Can anyone give me a tutorial on how to do it? Also after doing it how can I check whether it is being utilized and is working properly.

If Fedora 8 has "gparted" available, install and use that, it's the simplest way for a beginner.
