X Error of failed request

Hi,

i would like to use blender, as I used it in F9, but i always get the following error on trying to fire it up:

X Error of failed request:  BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation)
  Major opcode of failed request:  157 (GLX)
  Minor opcode of failed request:  19 (X_GLXQueryServerString)
  Serial number of failed request:  12
  Current serial number in output stream:  12

this error also occurs if i try to bring up any other app that uses 3d or even glxgears.

what can i do?

i know this is from 2008
but i just install Fedora 14 and this problem present after following these steps

never mind it's working now

i had to delete the xorg.conf
and then aticonfig --initial to make a new one
reboot, and now its working
