Lightbulb Missing Dependency on yum update

There are only a few years since I receive for most of my update attempts the glorious Error: Missing Dependency: somepackage is needed by package anotherpackage

Sometimes a fix was provided in few days, sometimes the problem was due to a missing repo. Some other time I had to remove a package, run the upgrade, and then install again the packages giving the conflict. I might have solve in some other ways that I do not recall right now (searching on forums)

Bottom line, thousands of posts on different forums, most of them still unsolved. I'm wondering why there is no yum plugin which could solve the mysterious dependencies.

Let's try to post here all the problems encountered and solved (and how) so far, maybe we could start a new development
